A WONDERFUL EARLY 19TH CENTURY NEW ENGLAND HANGING WALL LIGHTING OR CLOCK SHELF IN NATIVE CHERRY WITH NICE SCALLOPED SIDES IN GREAT OLD ORIGINAL RED PAINT. ALL SQUARE HEAD CONSTRUCTION AND WONDERFUL HAND PLANNING MARKS, New England, Circa 1820-1840.
A VERY RARE SURVIVOR. THESE SHELVES WERE USED FOR CANDLESTICKS AND LAMPS AND ALSO USED TO HOLD EARLY 19TH CENTURY SHELF AND PILLAR AND SCROLL CLOCKS. IT IS HAD TO DETERMINE EXACTLY THE ORIGINAL PURPOSE WAS BUT IT COULD BE USED FOR EITHER.
Great hand planned surfaces and the original square head nails.

The condition is extremely nice. There are no repairs or restorations, only honest wear and tear.
