A Russian Porcelain Presentation Easter Egg w. The Russian Coat of Arms, c.1900

This elegant porcelain egg is a rich, emerald shade of green with fine floral-patterned gilt overlay.

The front of the egg features a oval shaped painting on a white background of the Russian Coat-of-Arms: the double-headed black Imperial Eagle topped with three crowns. The birds hold a sceptre and orb in their outstretched talons and have a crested shield in the centre.

The painting of the crest is enhanced by a gold scalloped line on the inside, banded by a wide gilt band and then further framed by an ormolu-style decorative border.

The presentation egg has a gilt sunburst at the top around the opening to thread the ribbon.

It comes with its original peach coloured ribbon with the bow at the base .

This beautifully decorated egg would make a wonderful addition to a collection of porcelain eggs.

Marked: unsigned (pictured).

Measures: 2 1/2" high w finial x 2" wide at the centre exclusive of the bow.

Excellent condition: Absolutely no chips, cracks, crazing or restoration. Minor wear to the gilt commensurate with age (pictured).
