A Superb Large Solid Silver Lidded & Hob Nail Cut Glass Vanity Jar, by Walker & Hall, Assay Hallmarked Chester 1906.
This is a beautiful very large rendition of one of these vintage vanity jars, the largest one I have had, it has the standard \"Hob Nail\" cut pattern, and the repousse design Reynolds Angels on the push fit lid.The lid does have one very small hole from years of polishing but mainly only visible when held up to the light, and one little nick on the side of the jar, all commensurate with age and usage, considering it is 111 years old.
The inside of the lid still has it\'s original gilding in the repousse indentations of the inner lid.The jar stands just over 3-1/2\" tall, and is 3\" across the base.
A lovely pot, by a great maker and Chester assay mark, making it quite collectable, or ideal as a wedding, christening Birthday or Christmas gift, or even as a nice present for someone special.

PS Silver is very difficult tophotograph because it\'s reflection picks up the photographer, hence any tinging.Also, these items are not new, most are over 100 years old, some 200 and over, so will have some defects, unless they had a charmed life.
