A Superb Set of Four Georgian Silver Candlesticks Sheffield 1825.
A wonderful set of four solid silver George IV table candlesticks of shaped circular form. Profusely decorated with flowers and foliage to the base, the knops on the stem, the capitals and the sconces. The dished ribbed central base rising to a tapered reeded column with rope decoration and conforming ribbed urn shaped capital. All four sconces of cast silver all over decorated with scrolling floral motifs. Original wood covered bases. Each base crested with an arm holding a dagger.
Each candlestick identically marked to both the bases and the sconces for Sheffield 1825 by John and Thomas Settle.
The sticks are in superb original condition. Very minor signs of wear and no repairs. Extremely attractive set of four matching candlesticks that would look magnificent on any occasion.
