A very rare William III silver lighthouse caster, London 1698. Britannia Standard, with a turned finial to the domed, pierced cover engraved with scrolls and flowers with bayonet fixing mounts. The main body of the caster is plain with applied bands to the rim and waist. All standing on a lobed foot.

Hallmarked for London 1698. Partial makers mark is visible but I have not yet tracked it down to a maker.

The caster is in exceptionally fine condition, the most outstanding example I have ever handled.

No repairs or damage, ofexcellentgauge and wonderful patina.

This is a lovely caster of museum quality.
