The team existed from 1940 until 1963, playing in various senior and minor professional leagues during that time. In 1948, the Flyers won theAllan Cupas Canadian senior hockey champions, and would later capture threeLester Patrick CupsasWestern Hockey Leaguechampions.The Flyers were a minor league affiliate of theNational Hockey League\'sDetroit Red Wingsduring their tenure in the WHL.
