Found in New England and offered for sale without reserve is an original early 20th century New EnglandShallow Herb Gathering Basket. It is beautifully woven with thin and thick side splints and a square bottom of only wide splints.Nicely wrapped rim and two woven into the sides handles. Very good and solid condition with a warm patina. The splints appear to be ash and the basket has no holes or repairs and is very clean inside and out. There is one older top rim wrap breakand there is a thin bottom edge rim that was added for stability that is broken in three corners.(See last 2 photos).Measures: 16-3/4\" x 16\" x 4-3/4\" high.Please view all photos and contact me with any questions or concerns BEFORE offerding.
