This is a beautiful antique French childs sampler from the early 1800s.
I have left it just as I found it mounted on an old frame.
It is warm old tea colour with age and the embroidery threads are soft pinks, pale eau de nil green, pale blue and pale brown.
A beautiful selection of alphabet and numbers above with two flower urns and a tree below. It looks to be a cherry tree or apple tree with its coloured fruit.
The edges have a flower design border.
I am a little unsure of the wording below but the pictures show it clearly above and below.
All good and strong and a wonderful piece for any collection or period display.
