This is a delicieux antique French silk hat or couture corsage that dates from the late 1800s.
It has never been used and still has its original PARIS label attached.
There is something about old period corsages, they have a wonderful flair and the textiles are always so amazing.
I recently saw a French magazine article about a girl who had brought all the old wooden petal moulds of a corsage maker and is making a new business producing silk corsages from the moulds...I cannot wait to see the results.
The flowers are simply beautiful and the corsage is made up of 17 petite separate blooms and it could be separated for use if required.
Each bloom is a small tea rose with layers of petals with tiny petals forming a bud at the centre.
Each stem is linen covered.
All are still good and strong and the bouquet measures approx 5\" high x 6\" across.
16 are in the bundle and one is loose.
