For sale is an antique 19th century French champleve ink well with a marble base insert. Measures about 4\" x 3 1/2\" x 3\"tall. Scalloped edge footed base. Lots of red veins in green marble inset. Very clean with no damage. Minor wear indicative of age. Firm and sturdy hinge that fits snugly. Lid overlaps top of pot. There is no inner liner and may not have ever had one.
