ANTIQUE, C.1890-95, RARE McLOUGHLIN BROS. \"INDIA, AN ORIENTAL GAME\"-LIMITED PRODUCTI am no expert when it comes to these games, research indicates two versions of the McLoughlin India game. The first[1885] was a folding board with dice which was removed from production shortly after introduction because Selchow & Righter claimed Mcloughlin was copying their Parcheesi game style. I can find no evidence of what I assume came next, but perhaps Mcloughlin changed the appearance to an unfolded board, replaced the dice with an indicator and made a limited number with the change. This one seems to have been gifted to a student, probably by a teacher, for the school years\' best attendance in 1901. See last photo. The first folded version when opened was slightly larger than the game board within this box which is 13 7/8\" x 14 3/8\". The outer dimensions of the box are 14 1/2\" x 15\" x 1\" I\'ve seen this game board framed for a beautiful game board is bright, sharp and very clean. Some very minor spots and along the edge is minor dirt which I believe can be cleaned if done delicately. The board is mounted on a wood frame which is basically clean on the top and inside edges. There is some staining on the outer side and some roughness to the bottom edge. The indicator is very clean and working. There at 7 of the 16 game pieces present[4 of 4 different colors]. The front of the box cover is bright and sharp with side/edge damage, blemishes and wrinkling especially near the top. Some printed color out of registration, which I see on a lot of old games, etc. The instructions are on the inside of the box top. Please look at photos.
