Lovely, early painting of draped lady and Cupid, putti or angel, cherub type figure in woodland scene with trees and pond. The verso canvas and frame show considerable oxidation. Work is on canvas. Uncertain if American or European. I have not found a signature.
In the manner of NeoClassical or Romanticsm periods or styles.The lady is draped with a flowing garment, holding a floral bouquet or garland. The young figure has wings to the back holding a small arrow representing a Cupid, angel , putti or perhaps fairy like image.
Framed in a very ornate , very deep frame with foliate, leaf and scrolling elements. It gives the image a very great look. The frame is gilt with surface wear/rubbing and slight losses of gold finish thru out the frame.It has some light to moderate craquelure. Upper left has a small darker area to surface. ? If dirt, dark varnish or other. Very small Loss of gilt moulding, inner lining lo left 1/2\"- see condition notes above, also.
