This antique 1920\'s or 1930\'s D & M (Draper & Maynard) \"Lucky Dog\" first baseman\'s mitt is in very good condition with no damage, and really very little age or play wear. While the 9\" wide x 9 1/2\" long brown leather glove does have some light scuffs, scratches and small cracks in the leather, the leather is not dried or brittle. The strap is intact with no splits or cracks, and like the glove it\'s also not brittle. The buckle for the strap has just light rust discoloration. The black & gold cloth manufacturer\'s label is a little hard to read, but you can see the trademark image of Nick (\"Lucky Dog\") and the initials D & M (I found it easier to read with a magnifying glass-zoom or enlarge the last photo for a closer look.) The D-M company was founded in 1881 in Ashland, New Hampshire by Jason F. Draper (1850-1913) and John Maynard (1846-1937). The company moved to a new factory in Plymouth, N.H. in 1900, and eventually closed in 1937 upon the death of Maynard (\"Lucky Dog\" Nick was Maynard\'s bird dog.) The glove fits on the left hand, so it\'s for a person who throws right handed.
