19th Century.Northern region of Russia.Authenticity guaranteed.Egg tempera on wood panel.The Virgin and Child are depicted against the background of aoctagonal star, consisting of two acute quadrangles with concave ends. On both sides of the quadrangle depicting angels,archangels andguardianssurrounding the burning bush.

Size of the icon:height15.5 inches (39 cm),width12.5 inches (32 cm), thickness of the panel 6/8 inch (1.5 cm).
Condition:Good and stable state of preservation typical for the 19th Century. The wood panel slightly curved. Two slats on verso are missing. See photographs.
Iconography:The center of the icon shows the Mother of God waist-length with the Divine Child in glory. Blessing Christ is sitting on the left hand of the Mother of God as if enthroned. Their colors of their vestment are not usual for 19th Century: the Mother of God is represented in the very dark brown/black omophorion and the Divine Child is dressed in the white chiton.
