....just acquired from the fine Ohler Estate sale last Saturday ...offering this fabulous early to mid 19thc folk art hand carved heavy oak mantel clock shelf with carving of man said by the family to be Daniel Boone...Ken Ohler(in his mid seventies) told me the story..that this shelf hung on his grandfathers wall and as a child his grandfather told the story of how the family was related to Daniel Boone and that man under the drawer was indeed suppose to be Daniel Boone.. an interesting story.
..clock shows only moderate age/wear and is solid and intact.
...top measures approximately 21\" x 7 3/4\". Back measures 21 1/4\" x 10\" and extends from wall approximately 8\".
..metal handle on drawer is not original..replaced a single wooden knob(see hole)..probably added during the 1920\'s-1930\'s.
