    Antique 20th Century rare and very unusual Indian Colonial Solid Silver betel box, of cylindrical form, resting on three cast deity-like figural feet, applied swags, the pull-off body is beautifully chased with flowers on a finely tooled ground, the detachable top is applied with a cat with its three kittens, very naturalistic and well-refined.

    The piece is one of the finest and most unusual Indian Colonial objects, probably from South India - Madras or Bangalore. As often the case for Indian silver the piece is unmarked (the stylized star to base and top is probably the workshop\'s mark), acid tested shows a 900+ standard, it dates to the Great condition - No  15cm
