This beautiful antique brooch is made of sterling silver and is finished with vitreous glass (kiln-fired) enamel, with a pearlescent white center and a mint green border. It has an oblong lozenge or navette shape that accommodates the feminine, hand-painted pink roses and blue-green leaves perfectly.

The translucent enamel is applied over a wonderful guilloche textured surface that shimmers through, with the celadon border applied over a simple ribbed texture that has the appearance of grosgrain ribbon. The thin black border is accented with delicate swirls at the corners and center top and bottom.

Measuring 1 1/2\" by 3/4\", the brooch is in excellent condition. The back has a simple c-clasp and is marked \"Sterling\". There is no maker\'s mark per se. While the piece might benefit from a gentle clean, there is no damage at all, and I like to leave the original patina intact for collectors.
