I have no expertise on vintage, or antique Indian Brass...NOTE: Your own expertise must be your guide, above anything I try to describe, please, as I am TOTALLY out of my \'area\' on Asian Antiques, and these pieces.
(I also have a pair of Ginger Jar Lidded Vases to list as well,, This is going to be a rough week for me, LOL~)
Vase stands VERY STRAIGHT, even if my photos are not, (apologies that! :)
NO BENDS, DENTS, BREAKS to either. This listing includes both pieces, which have been in my own family since LONG before I was born, and I\'m pushing 60!
So, not certain of their exact age, but guessing 1920\'s (??)
The vase is a very good one, and hand-chased and wrought, of quite a heavier brass than one normally finds now.
We always placed daffodils in this vase every spring~
So there are some mineral marks from water inside, as expected from use, also, the vase does not leak. BEAUTIFUL patterning of flowers, leaves and vines, an exceptional piece.
You can see the thickness in the photos, possibly.
I have never polished this item myself, leaving it to age its patina naturally,
and in fact, it does have a brownish tinged area to the pedestal foot...so unsure if copper is in here, or in the base foot,
I\'m out of my area with these pieces.(but cannot say with certainty that it has never been polished decades ago, that I do not know, but do not think so).The cute open oil-lamp ashtray, my mother used daily for years and years, (washing regularly of course), nonetheless, I really had to give the interior a bit of a gentle, but determined, scrub, and polish as well. So, it is pretty Clean, albeit vintage and has certainly BEEN USED!! It\'s a cute piece, but I think might not be quite as old as the vase. Well washed though.~~Vase has \"H.H. INDIA\"..I tried to blow-up photo for that otherwise very tiny mark, but doesn\'t allow the photo with its new restrictions, apologies!..Please Message me to send if you like.
