An absolutely magnificent Belgian wall/clock shelf from the late 19th or early 20th century. I believe this to be a cast (plaster?) shelf with a core of solid wood. It was then gilded in a beautiful gold finish. The detail is amazing! There are some separation cracks on the back (where the plaster meets the wood) as seen in the photos. There is also a small crack in the bottom tail piece. This does not impact its integrity or strength however. It is quite heavy and needs to be handled carefully due to the ornate workmanship. The shelf is about 17 inches tall, and the top shelf area measures about 10 inches x 10 inches. The original manufacturer label is still on the back (Brussels, Belgium). All in all a one of a kind piece. Happy offerding!
