A superb genuine antique bronze lion mask door knocker, dating from the early19th Century, possibly late Georgian.

The knocker is beautifully cast in the form of a lions face and mane, the striker part has a scrolled design with a bewigged gentleman’s face at the centre, it is complete with original imperial threaded bar, the nuts are replacements of the correct thread size.

There is a little wear to the face on the striker, due to age and use, otherwise in good antique condition.

The lion mask measures 5” high x 4” wide, overall it is 7 3/4” long and the threaded bars at the back are 2 3/4” long.

This classic door knocker is very finely cast, even finished well on the reverse, a real sign of quality, it would look fabulous on any period door.
