SET OF 6 ANTIQUE CREIL PLATES
These are 8\" plates. They are not flat but have a \"well\" type depression, perhaps desserts plates, but not deep enough to be soup bowls.
Four plates are different, 2 are the same We\'ve not seen similar patterns on or elsewhere on the internet. The design perhaps is of oriental hunting scenes and associated scenes, featuring shooting on horseback, horse care, etc.
Each in nice condition but a couple of them have a stain, tan color but small, one has a chip on the under side. Some crazing visible, on the underside but not a detraction. Some discoloration on the undersides of a few.
Will look beautiful in your cabinet when you\'re not using them! And yes, we think you could actually use them.
Each has an impressed \"Creil\" mark and a couple of other small impressed marks are visible on at least 3 of them. We cannot identify the smaller impressed marks but we believe these to be very early Creil items due to the sole Creil mark. No under the glaze marks. Pre dates Creil Montereau.
