ANTIQUE EX-LAX DRUG STORE LAXATIVE PORCELAIN ENAMEL ADVERTISING THERMOMETER OLD Description

This antique porcelain/enamel on metal thermometer sign was made to advertise Ex-Lax Laxative and most likely hung in or outside of an early day drug store. It measures approx. 8 in. wide x 39 in. tall and the original glass tube still works and is intact. You may see some splotches on the surface but they are only reflections of light. It is very colorful and a fun piece of over the counter medicine history. The top and the bottom of the piece has some wear to the thick enamel surface right around where the screw holes are, (see pictures). There is some yellowing-discoloration around the thermometer in the white areaand I have never tried to clean or brighten it up after owning it for over 18 years.
