High quality fine silver wire Japanese cloisonné vase dating from the Meiji era (1868 - 1912) in round form with short broad neck of double wall construction, broad shoulders and a rounded body tapering down to a narrower foot. light blue enamel base plate and gold washed throat plate.
The design is on three detailed song birds in a white flowering tree with a variety of types of chrysanthemum flowers growing at the base of the tree. On the reverse is a small maple tree in Fall colors. There are borders at the mouth and foot that are typically associated with double wall construction. There are also cicada lapwing borders at the top and bottom.
The vase is 7: tall. Excellent condition with two small flakes near the shoulder (see pic # 5). Unsigned. Stand not included. Ask all questions before offerding. Please wait for our invoice prior to paying.
