A majolica Tobacco jar formed as a man wearing a nightcap and smoking a cigar. The jar measures 4 3/4\" tall and is generally in very good condition. There are two small nicks (more glaze flakes than chips) on his left shoulder (see photo 1). There is an impressed number \'8991\' or \'1668\' whichever way up you look at it. I believe that this jar is of German manufacture.
