RARE ANTIQUE GERMAN CHROMOLITHOGRAPH OF ST JOHN THE BAPTIST CHRISTIAN SAINT. Believed to be late 1800\'sThis beautiful piece come in an equally as beautiful Antique Hand Made tramp art wood frame.The Print depicts The Saint John Baptist as a child holding a lamb. The lamb symbolizes Jesus Christ the son of God.There is a crucifix and a banner that reads \" AGNUS DEI\" (Latin) for \"The Lamb of God.\" Meaning- the lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world. There are Red and Pink Roses along the bottom the text reads St John The Baptist in several different languages. and reads GERMANY.There may be a date and Artist lithographer but I chose not to remove it from the frame. It has been well preserved for all these years.The print appears to be in very good condition there are two-three lines along the arm that may very well have been from the printing.There is no water damage or staining. It is an absolutely exquisite piece. Would look beautiful on the wall of a home or place of worship.Looks like it would hang in a Museum. The frame is very good condition with one or two minimal scratches. No chipped wood or missing wood.
Measures: Lithograph 14 1/4\" x 10 1/4 Frame 17 1/4\" x 13 1/4\" The item appears to look smaller in the photographs then the actual size.
