Fresh from an estate sale is this terrific antique bar set / music box. It looks like pieces I have seen by \" ARNI \" but I will have to leave it to the experts if it was made by this company, The only markers I can find are a partial one on the back of the base which appears to me to be in German and the remnants of a white sticker on the bottom (not ledgeable). In any case, this hand carved wood piece depicts a pretty young lady sitting on a barrel with a suitcase next to her, which contains the winding mechanism for the music box, and a red and white painted bottle behind her on the top of the barrel. The ladies head conceals a corkscrew and the bottle a bottle opener. When you replace the ladies head it automatically turns to the right, although it can be turned to face forward, and I believe it controls turning off the music. The piece measures 6 1/4\" by 3 3/4\" and is about 7\" tall. The condition is good, the music box in working order, and the only flaws I can detect are some wear to the paint on the suitcase, some missing \"hair\" on the back of the ladies head and some discoloration on the top of the cork screw (did not attempt to clean).
