Antique German Kestner Doll
Eyes: Sleepy, brown glass eyes
Head: Socket, bisque, open
Hair: Brown wig
Lashes: Upper and lower painted lashes, thick feather painted brows
Mouth: Pink lips, open mouth with four upper rounded teeth and red tongue
Body: composition body with jointed head, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips and knees
Size: 24.5" long
Markings: Back of the neck is marked, "K 1/2 Made In 14 1/2 Germany 164 ". Her body is stamped with red ink "Germany 4"
Clothes: The outfit is vintage and made for this doll by an award winning doll artist. She includes dress and pantaloons
The doll is in overall great condition with a few noteworthy flaws. There are some light stains to the clothing, specifically to the pantaloons. There are some light scuffs to the wax on her eyelids and they could use a proper cleaning, but the scuffs are only light surface scuffs. Her body has a few light scuffs and chips to the paint consitent with age. There are also a few places where there are chips to the composition material, but these are mostly in places where the joints meet. There is wear to the paint on the tips of her fingers, but all fingers are still in tact. There is also a crack on the top of her right shoulder. All of the flaws I have listed here are photographed, howeverI am only allowed to post 24 photos. In some cases in order to preserve the doll we can not and will not remove the clothing, as it would need to be cut off or could damage the doll. If the doll you are viewing is not completely nude, then this is the case. Thank you for understanding.
To protect the eyes, cotton balls will be placed over the eyes and a layer of bubble wrap will be wrapped around to hold the cotton balls in place. If the wig is loose, and we are able, we will stuff the head with tissue. Any plastic, celluloid, composition or bisque parts will be covered in bubblewrap. If you have an alternative shipping method you would like us to use, please contact us prior to shipment and we will be happy to oblige if we are able.
