ANTIQUE L.C.T.TIFFANY FAVRILE ART GLASS CANDLE HOLDER, SIGNED

Thislisting is for agorgeous Tiffany \"Favrile\" Blue and White Iridescent/OpalescentArt GlassCandle Holder. We acquired this from our Brother-In-Law following his passing. To the best of our knowledge, this Candle Holder was in his Washington D.C. family for at least two generations.

This isa Hand Blown Studio Piece. The Upper SurfacePortion of glass is Stretched and Slightly Ruffled and the Interior Has aSmooth Ribbed Surface. A Masterful Piece of Craftsmanship, this beautifulCandle Holder has a rich Peacock Blue Opalescent Glass Edge with glimpses of Lavenderand Rose. With Back Lighting, there is a Gold Iridescent color throughout thepiece. The Candle Holder Base has aPearlWhite Vertical Feathering over a Clear Glass.

The Etched Signature ismarked on the bottom of the base: \"L. C. T.\", \"Favrile\"and\"1846\".(Note that photographing the bottom signature informationwas difficult with my camera. I rubbed some cocoa powder into the etchingand was then able to capture the images. Of course, I then rinsed out thecocoa and cleaned the base.)

The Measurements are approximately3-3/4 inches High with 3-1/2 inches in Diameter at the Top and 4-1/2 inches inDiameter at the Bottom. The Candle Opening is approximately 15/16 inchesin Diameter.

The Condition is Excellentwith NO Chips, Cracks or Repairs. There is some Very Minor Surface Scuffingon the Bottom of the Base (which cannot be felt with your finger and is barely noticeableto the eye).

Note:\"Favrile\" glass was patented by Louis Comfort Tiffany in 1894and along with Frederick Carder\'s\"Aurene\" glass made forSteuben. This glass set the highest standard for iridescent/opalescentglass at the turn of the 20th Century.
