This is a miniature antique leather photo album dating from1865-1870. The album contains 12 pages with each pagedesigned to hold up to 2 photos for a total capacity of 24 photos.There are currently 23 tin-type photos in the album, all of themare head portraits. This was a family album with the name ofeach person written on the page. The photos are of are men,women and children. The writing on the front page indicatesthe photos were taken between 1865-1870.
The outside of the albumdoes show a bit of wear that youwouldexpect with it\'s age. Theclasp works well and holdstogether. Thepages and binding are in very good conditionconsidering theage of the album with no loose or danglingpages.
The album measures 1.75\" across and almost 2\" tall and isabout 1\" thick. The tintype photos are about 1\" tall and 3/4\"across.
