A very rare and unusual antique Napoleonic prisoner of war straw work box.This box, a cheroot case, is a beautiful example in amazing condition for its age. It has onlyminordamage to the diamond shape on one end and some very slight damage where the two halves join. Both of these can be seen clearly in the photographs and, in my opinion, in no way detract from the beauty of this piece. In fact they only add to it\'s authenticity.The box isverytactile and the main body of the piece shows no damage whatsoever. The interior is immaculate.The straw work is incredibly intricate with dazzling colours especiallyvisible on the adjoining centre piece which hasn\'t been exposed to the light.The box is not marked, typical of these POW pieces.
