This is a 23 inch tall, antique solid cast iron pot metal or some sort, figural lamp of DIOGENES in SEARCH OF AN HONEST MAN, from GREEK MYTHOLOGY. This lamp is missing the shade portion of his lantern, but the lamp works and the wiring looks about 75 years old and I don\'t know what original state the lamp would have looked like. The standard sized bulb is not included, just used in the photos to prove the lamp works. In the base is the signature of the artist, \"A. REICHEL\" or possibly, \"A. REIMEL\", who I could find nothing about on Google. The base has 2 small drilled holes not in use and may have been used to mount this figure onto something? There is a nice patina to the surface and there are no signs of damage or repairs other the the missing shade and possible rewiring long ago. Study all my photos and ask any questions or offer some new information before offerding. The winner of this very heavy and large figural lamp would pay $39.99 for secure Parcel Post mailing within the US.
