This is a great Civil War era photo album containing, amongst other things, two CDVs of Civil War soldiers in full uniform. Bound in fantastic and clean browned leather with inset blindstamped borders, the spine with raised bands and gilt title, the edges of the holders shining gilt, topped with a working brass swing clasp. Contains a mix of tintypes and CDVs, with women, men, children, babies and an interesting one of Lincoln and Washington in almost a homoerotic pose at the rear- assuming this is a Civil War era illustration, it is a symbol of Lincoln saving the Union that Washington so delicately and diligently created. Soldier CDVs have the name \'Harry\' written on the back, no other ID. Count of 20 CDVS and 9 tintypes. A few visible with Maine and NY locales. The name Gorham appears inside, also on the front EP there is a presentation from a handful of female names to their teacher, Mrs Tildon, dated Dec. 25th 1865. A Christmas gift exactly 150 years old this December. Amazing. Measures 5\" x 3.75\" x 1.25\" thick. Good luck!
