VERY RARE! GORGEOUS DECO STYLE by Royal Doulton, England. The \"POPPY\" pattern is made ofporcelain that is so fine & delicate,it is nearly translucent in light but, has the durability of fine china. Withasoft crème, almost yellowishbackground; orange and yellow poppy flowerswith green stems and leaves, ittruly is abeautiful design.
What makesthis patternso special is the 30\'s deco stylingand the square shape of the plate. There is also a thin green band on the plateswith gilding on each piece. The Poppy pattern is listed as V1347 however, this particular plate has V1330-43 and an embossed # 4 533 but as you can see, it is the same pattern. Perhaps it was made in 1933? I\'m not sure for the differences in numbering on the back.
This plate is in near perfect condition which is amazing considering it\'sjust over 80years old. The paint is still bright and the gilding on the rims is in tact. No chips, cracks, nicks or even crazing! There are only two utensil use scratches on this plate that are hardly noticeable unless you tilt it just right in the light. Plate is 8\"w.
