The Master Salt Cellar is very thick solid silver ! The elaborate highly detailed scenes are elegant. The craftsmanship that went into the construction of this piece is superb. Only a highly skilled Silversmith could have conceived and executed this piece with such precision and finery! This is a six sided salt cellar and it was created back when Silversmiths were in high demand and the quality of their craftsmanship was far better than what you see nowadays ! The interior of this item is black with tarnish which is evidence that it is solid silver as oxidation causes silver to turn black - I will polish the piece upon request otherwise it will be sold with its age old patina because some people like the patina which can be readily polished off with some good silver polish and elbow grease however I cannot rightly put the patina / tarnish back onto the item this requires time ! The weight of the set is one and a half ounces as this is a thick Silver set not flimsy thin metal this Salt Cellar will Not easily dent or ding - it is a high quality piece made to last - as it has already withstood the test of time at over a century of age! This true antique Salt Serving dish and spoon are amazingly detailed and are just an outstanding and well made set that will make a most excellent addition to any collection and are ready for immediate shipment and usage - you will be hard pressed to find such a wonderful genuine Antique & Solid Silver serving set at such a reasonable price with such amazing detail and fine craftsmanship!
