I picked up this Driver Club at a Florida estate sale for my husband. He loves golf, but I can\'t get him interested in collecting vintage golfing items. Oh well, your gain!
The head of the club has the famous John Henry Taylor autograph mark, and underneath is imprinted \"GYNOSURE\". (Maybe that\'s Dynosure?)\" The brass plate on the underside is a little scratched, but I assume the club has seen many a round on the course. Overall length of the club is about 42 1/4 inches. The head of the club seems to be solidly attached to the shaft. I think the shaft is hickory. There is a faint mark on shaft, near the wrapping, but I can\'t make it out. The leather wrapping looks to be in in nice condition.Some one went to the trouble of having the club mounted on a thin oak plank. It is held on with two brass rings that appear carefully clamped around the shaft. The mounting measures about 47 inches by 5 1/2. If you wanted, I think you could gently take the club off the plank without too much problem.
