ANTIQUE Victorian ASIAN Indian MUNTAZ MAHAL Hand Made DOLL ~ RARE 19cThis lovely Mumtaz Mahal Indian doll was brought to the USA from India over 60 years ago.
and had been in the family for some years before that. I was told she dates somewhere between
1900\'s and 1930\'s. Her body, face, feet and hands are some kind of bisque or porcelain which is
completely hand painted, and her clothing is silk w/24k gold lace, as was popular in that era. She sits approximately 9.25\" high x 11\" x 11.5\" wide. Her breasts
and the pillow she sits on appear to be stuffed cotton or some soft material. The rest of
her (except for her clothing) is solid, weighing approximately 1 pound. Her earrings, bracelets,
necklace and nose adornments are intact and original to her initial creation.The details of her lovely face surrenders an enlightened grace, both poetic and romantic. It appears that her dress was once purple, now faded to a soft lavender after years of exposure,
but regardless, she is truly a work of fine craftsmanship and artistry.~ I am not an expert on dolls (I can only share what I know from the family that gave this to me)
