Very French look, stunning Design gold case , cobalt blue enamel with real seed pearls all in place with a mounted glass window on the back. The piece is fine high quality treasure from Victorian Era or earlier.
I didn\'t test the gold, it is looks like 9 ct gold, can be pinchbeck , but more likely it is gold. It is not marked.I just can see very tiny engraving on the back \'356 B\', might be client number? , you can see it with magnifying glass.The rim of the glass window is gold plated metal. It is setting in the locket very properly, I can not open it.I don\'t see any hair inside, just piece of fabric . Possibly the hair has been removed, as the gold gild on the rim of back window little bit worn.Central pearl 4 mm in diameter,four smaller pearls are 2 mm in diameterWeight is 6 grams.Diameter for locket is 2,2 cm.With the loop is 3 cm longI asked jewelier to check the gold and open the window, but he suggested don\'t do it, because it can be cause of damage for enamel, the case of locket or window rim. So I didn\'t test it.The locket is in a good to very good condition for its age. Elegant enamel with only 4 very tiny nicks on the two top sides of locket (as noted in last images) That only keep it from ranking \'very good\'Great design , will look gorgeous and elegant with any outfit .
