This is an antique chocolate mold of a chicken. There isa considerableamount of detail in this mold with the feathers,comb and eyes clearly visible. The mold isdouble-sided andI believe made of steel/tin. The mold has hinges attached alongthe top and bottom as shown in the photos.
The front side of the mold is stamped with the number \"6840\". The back side of the mold has the Anton Reiche marking. Thereis the number \"2\" before and the number \"0\" after the Reichemarking which I believe indicates the mold was made in 1920.
The hinge on the top side of the mold is stamped with \"TC WEYGANDTCo, NEW YORK\" and also \"MADE IN GERMANY\". The hingeon the bottom of the mold is stamped \"ANTON REICHE DRESDEN\".
The mold appears in good condition for its age. Both hinges movefreely and easily. There are some small spots of corrosion visibleon the inside and outside of the mold. The flange on the mold isbent in some areas and shows more sign of wear near the bottom(see photos). I don\'t see any signs of repair work and I haveincluded several closeup photos. Please have a look at all thephotos as Ibelieve they provide the bestdescription.
The mold stands 4.5\" tall and about 4.5\" across at it\'s widest.The mold is about 2\" from front to back at the base.
