\"EARL CARROLL\'S MODELS\"

EXHIBIT CARD DISPLAY POSTER

Beryl Wallace (c1947-48)

EXHIBIT SUPPLY CO.

VERY GOOD / FINECONDITION

Rare Exhibit Card display poster from the storedremnants of a long-shuttered New York area arcade distributor. We were fortunate to have acquired quite a bit of vintagearcade materiala number of years ago at the former owner\'s estate sale. This display measures 12 1/2 by 18 1/2 and has been neatly shrink-wrapped to foam board for easy presentation. The display is from the \"Earl Carroll\'s Models\" series of Exhibit Cards issued in thelate 1940s. This arcade displayis guaranteedVINTAGE AND ORIGINALand is notamodern print or reproduction.

Features nine cards of famous 1940s Earl Carrollshowgirls including hismost famous, Beryl Wallace, at thetop right card. All cards are in striking color, a rarity for the ExhibitCard issuances which were almost exclusively in black and white. We\'d welcome anyinformation identifying any of the othershowgirls presented.

ARCADE CARD DISPLAYS

These display posters were inserted into the face of an Exhibit Card dispenser (or above it) to show the passing customer samples of the type of Exhibit Card that would be dispensed from that machine. The cards presented on the display are actual Exhibit Cards produced by the Exhibit Supply Company and are affixed to a paper backing along with identifying header and borders. It should be noted that these \"display\" cards are actually made of glossy paper stock (rather than the normal card stock associated with Exhibit Cards); the images though are identical to the cards the machine would dispense. Since these paper versions were not sold to the general public and were produced solely for these machine displays, they represent extremely rare variant cards to the actual Exhibit Cards. If you\'re an Exhibit or Mutoscope card completist or casual collector, this is a rare opportunity to acquire a must-have addition to your collection. The paper cards can be carefully removed from the backing should one choose to do so.

We can\'t emphasize enough how difficult it is to find these displays, particularly non-sport versions. Most were discarded when the Exhibit Supply Company closed its doors and much of the rest disappeared when the last penny arcades were shut down. This particular display has been in storage for decades. Try a search on .. you won\'t find very many Exhibit Card Displays... many thanks for looking...

GRADING: We use comic book grading standards, as defined by Overstreet and Comic Guarantee Corp., for grading all of our paper collectibles. These strict standards are well-developed and widely accepted. The various grades we use are generally applied as follows:

Near Mint - item is bright and clean, virtually defect-freeand appears \"like new\"... image is sharp... any defects would be barely perceptible and only visible upon close inspection.

Very Fine / Near Mint - at first glance appears near mint but upon close inspection very minor degradation or one or two very small defects become apparent.

Very Fine - generally clean and bright and still high grade and desirable but may have a few small defects (e.g., minor corner crease, light bend, subtle image degradation,etc.).

Fine - average grade... nice collectible item but defects are more noticable and apparent.. may have some soiling or image issues.

Very Good - lower grade... wear and tear is readily apparent... item is still complete though.

Good - low grade... heavy defects... could be a piece missing from a corner or a major tear.

Fair or poor - the lowest grades... we generally only offer items in this condition if they are hard to find.
