ART NOUVEAU Passover HAGGADAH circa 1930 in HUNGARIAN

This is one of the most beautifully illustrated haggadot ever printed. It contains about a dozen colored illustrationsin art noveau style typical of the 1920s. There wereseveral editions of this haggada in a few languages (Hebrew,English, French, Hungarian, & German). Theonly major difference between the illustrationsis that the centerfold of this one contains the family and descendants of Rav Moshe Soifer aka the Hatham Soiferseated aroundthe Seder table.The other edition had Rambam, Rashi,Rabbenu Tam, etc.Both haggadot are rare and wonderfully illustrated and printed with deep lithographic colors. I’ve seen these haggadot go for $300 at judaica sales.

The Hatham Sofer illustrations in THIS Hagada are slightly DIFFERENT than the others printed by this firm.

This Hagadah was printed in Vienna about 1930 (there\'s no date)by the Joseph Schlesinger publishingfirm. This is the HUNGARIAN language edition.

Contains64pages NOT including the prints.

Measurements: 9 x 12 inches.

Condition: NO staining. Spine is about a third missing.
