Text in EnglishThe book covers architecture, painting, furniture, decorative arts and sculpture during one of the most creative periods in Austrian history. In particular, it is a fantastic contemporary reference on the early years of the Wiener Werkstätte with works by Josef Hoffmann, Gustav Klimt, Josef Urban, Kolo Moser, Josef Olbrich, Otto Prutscher, Ferdinand Andri, Emil Orlik, Leopold Bauer, Hans Ofner, Jan Kotera, Robery Oerley, Czescka, Heinrich Lefler, Otto Wagner, Michael Powolny, Jutta Sika and Berthold Loffler illustrated among others.
The Studio was undoubtedly the most influential fine, decorative and applied art periodical of its age. It was edited by Charles Holme.
Condition:Very good condition. There is expected handling wear to the covers - some light marking, bumping to the corners, wear to the extremities - but no significant damages. Internally the book is clean and bright with only minor general wear consistent with age and careful handling over the decades. I could find no inscriptions. A fabulous reference‌ in uncommonly good condition. Not to be missed.
