A beautiful Dark Blue transferware plate
+8 3/4\" diameter (a 9\" plate)One of a series of Adams\' fishing scene plates, the central pattern depicts two men in a small boat hauling in their nets in the absence of daylight - poaching? Behind the fishing scene on land, is a distinctive 2-story mill building.
The border is \"Rocks and Foliage\".
The impressed Adams Eagle backstamp is clear and is shown in my second photograph.More views of this pattern are detailed in Furniss Wagner, p.108 and in theTransferware Collectors Club database, by searching \"Tree Foliage and Rock border\".The plate is in excellent antique condition, no surface chips, no cracks or stains. The reverse side has a small chip on the stand rim, and a small stain on the outer underneath rim.Don\'t hesitate to ask any questions through this listing.
