This is the Masonic Venus pendant made by Alchemy Gothic. The Masonic Venus is a combination of the astrological and occult signs of Venus: the planetary symbol (a circle over a cross) and the pentagram or \'Star of Venus\'. The handmade English Pewter pendant has an etched brass inlay around the upper circle of the planetary symbol and is set with two Swarovski crystals. Fleur-de-lys (also known as Merovingian lilies) complete the bottom half of the planetary sigil. The pendant measures approximately 1 7/8\" tall and comes on a 20\" nickel-free pewter chain. Please note:Alchemy Gothic retired the Masonic Venus in 2012.
Magickal Symbolism:The Pentagram, or five pointed star, originated in ancient Mesopotamia as a graphic illustration of the conjunctions between Venus and the Sun as Venus shifted between its manifestation as the Morning Star and the Evening Star. As the Morning Star, the Mesopotamian goddess of the planet Venus, Ishtar, was a deity of battle, hunting and physical activity. It is an ancient, sacred symbol of both martial and spiritual power which underscores the original dual nature of the Mesopotamian deity Ishtar (Venus).
