This is an original Herman Miller slate and aluminum coffee table designed by Alexander Girard and Eames for the La Fonda de Sol restaurant in NYC in 1961. The top is a very heavy and solid piece of black slate. The base is a beautifully designed polished aluminum. The raw natural look of the slate top looks fantastic paired with the polished aluminum base. If so desired the slate top could be treated with a stone enhancer to give it a darker wet/shiny look. The table is 30\" in diameter and stands 18\" high. The table is in excellent condition with no gouges, chips, scratches or obvious signs of wear. Only the subtlest of superficial signs of any wear are visible on the base. I offer free pickup or reasonable delivery in the metro area. I will work with purchaser to ship the table in the most economical way but would guess it will end up being somewhere around $100.
