Offered with , an Ames Militia Officer\'s sword with blade dry needle scribed beneath langet \"Ames Mfg. Co. Chicopee Mass\". Blade etched with American Eagle and standard Ames designs from the 1850 - 1860 period- likely an early Civil War purchase or presentation to one of the officer\'s of a just formed unit. The mameluke style crossguard has a five pointed star, Ames helmeted head pommel and a reeded bone grip.The Ames brass scabbard has had the Ames marking removed from rear of scabbard as shown. Scabbard is engraved with a federal shield and has several heavy dents from use.Buyer to pay 20.00 for careful shipping.
