A large hand finished cast \'lost wax\' brass charger - the rim of swaged and folded form.

The broad rim is casted with repeating script - each cartouche formed from a die impression to the wax core of the mould. A broad band to the tapering shallow area between the rim and base also incorporates repeating cartouches. The central area incorporates an inscribed cartouche.

The reverse has at some time been fitted with a small wall suspension lug, (easily removed if required).

Overall diameter - 17 3/8\" (442mm).

Condition - Very Good. No repairs. An old polished finish to the top face now more muted to a more natural colour and patina.
