This iron helmet is a 16th Century Russian Helmet. It was purchased at Hermann Historica on October 8, 2009 for a purchase price of about $7000. I am selling this item for a friend of mine and it is being sold at a loss. It is very similar to the helmets from the army of the early 16th century Russian Tsar "Ivan the Terrible". I have taken photos of some papers that will be included with this item that shows a photo of the actual helmet that Ivan the Terrible wore personally. Copies of the sale catalog listing from Hermann Historica will also be included as well as a paperback book called "Armies of Ivan the Terrible". I have included some select photos of these items in addition to the helmet photos. This helmet is 11 3/4" (29.5 cm) tall. It is 8 3/4" X 8" in diameter (22.5 cm X 20 cm).
