A charming ancient Iron Age Cypriot vessel. Aterracotta black slip ware jug dating to approximately 1050 - 750 B.C.
Thevessel standing on a short, circularfoot, tapering into an acorn shapedbody decorated with molded ribs. Thecylindrical neckflaring outwards intoan everted mouth and with a small loop handle arching down from themouth to theshoulder of the vessel.
A lovely, well provenanced and decorative ancient vessel.
Height: 3 inches.
Condition: Very good. Unrestored. Old inventory number on base.

Ex collection of Mr J. Davies, gifted to Mr Davies in the 1950\'s by a member of the Cypriot government and legally exported to the UK, remaining in the family until 2011.
