A particularly attractive ancient Greek silver tetradrachm, minted in the name of the brother of Alexander the Great, Phillip III Arrhidaeus. Struck circa 323 - 317 BC at the Babylon mint.

A well struck, three dimensional coin of the Famous Alexander type. The obverse with Hercules (or Alexander the great in the guise of Hercules - opinions differ) wearing the skinof theNemeanlion and facing right.

The reverse with Zeus enthroned, shown holding eagle in his right hand and sceptre in his left. The legend reading:BASILEWS FILIPPOU\"Of KingPhillip\"

M in left field and B under throne.

Of fine style, a very pleasing example.
