This isa new and life size Greater Yellowlegs \"root head\" decoy. From bill to base of neck this is one piece of Holly, very strong when made this way. Body is several years\' dry Atlantic White Cedar, painted in oils: in summer plumage. Overall length is 12 \" long by 3\" wide. This decoy has relief carved wings. Mounted on natural Cedar base as shown. Dowel is removable from base and carving. 12 1/2\" high on base. Signed, dated , and has my H stamp. Also known as the \" Winter Yellowlegs\", larger of the two North American species.Last photo shows a Least Sandpiper made from one piece of Holly with cut nail bill on another sale this week.
